Getting guests buzzed: Building a mimosa bar and other things for your next baby shower.
Baby showers are about giving stuff to pregnant people but sometimes it's more fun to dress up your drinking problem.
Stuff to hold the juice: There are probably lower cost options out there but I'm pretty lazy. I use the large Ona Pitcher from Crate and Barrel for the OJ. Then I use four of the Pinch Carafes for the other juices. Your friends on the more amazing side of the cool spectrum will ignore your spread and drink champagne directly from the bottle. Always invite these people back.
I made these labels for my juice containers using Avery's templates on their website. I bought the actual blank labels from Amazon. They're removable too so my children wont be able to permanently affix them to anything expensive or antique. You can use Avery's site to design the label and then print it at home. Alternatively, you can have Avery print them and send them to you. Anyway, I prefer to have my shitty printer totally fuck them up so I'm doing it myself.
Avery has great templates on their website! This particular one originally looked like the below. I used their super handy editing features to flip it, change the colors, and add images. I allowed myself 5 minutes to feel like a genius for using this website as the designers intended.
Here's a sign for your Mimosa Bar. It is cheap, from AliExpress, and it comes in a bunch of colors.
Here's the thing about AliExpress: Shit's from China and their parcel service sucks anus. Sure, it's dirt cheap but it will take it over a month to get to you. Keep the faith. It will eventually arrive and you'll keep going back for more. You'll look for Ali Facebook groups. You'll start adding all your friends so they can also experience the euphoria of cute cheap stuff that is en route for 6 weeks then all arrives on the same day when your husband is home from work early. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Invitations: This particular shower is for a friend who is having a boy and whose husband loves hunting. So the theme is antlers and bucks and other woodsy stuff I know nothing about. These are the invitations, they are from Zazzle. I mean, Zazzle has cute stuff but their shipping times are ridiculous. At least with Ali I expect it to take 6 weeks but for shower invitations shipped domestically, 6 weeks is ridic. Then I had the unfortunate experience of having to call them to bitch about where my stamps and custom envelopes were. 30 minute hold times just to speak to a human. It was awful. I finally cancelled the envelopes because I needed to send out the damn invites. The stamps they eventually overnighted to me. The dude I talked to was nice and all but the whole experience soured me.
Other stuff: These are the favors. I got the boxes from Ali. I put blue Essie nail polishes in them, bath bombs that have a tag that says "you're the bomb" on them. A tin of mints that say "Thanks for coming, it really MINT a lot" and a few hair ties. Then I hung a little tag on the back, made via Avery's website. Consequently, I did not have the foresight to take a picture of my little collection of favors before I put them into the box and sealed it.
Here are a few extra bath bombs I had. I stuck them in a bowl in my foyer.
Everyone gets a name tag because I am cruel and really bad at names, particluarly after multiple mimosas. I hijacked some clipart off the internets and then downloaded some fonts.
These are the plates and napkins. They are blue and gold if you can't tell. My picture taking skills leave a lot to be desired.
